Sam and Christina's lakeside home in Austin, TX
When Christina and Sam moved into their new home, they were overwhelmed with the colors on the walls.  Described as "ketchup, mustard, and relish," they were eager to start with a clean slate...
COLOR CONSULTATION
So we loaded up Maya and Jake (their Boxer pups) and headed to Home Depot. Since our inspired color was lime green, we selected a neutral grey with a green undertone.
REDESIGN
Christina had requested a “zen room” where she could read, relax, and enjoy their view of the lake.  We replaced the heavy curtains with a lighter fabric, created a reading corner where she could kick up her feet, and completed the tranquil look with some large candles.  By incorporating the low table, plush rug, and floor pillows, the space could also be used to entertain Sam's family when they visited.
* Christina and Sam already had the chair, ottoman, coffee table, and artwork.  Inspired by the vibrant art, we completed the look with a reading lamp, new curtains, some bright accent pillows, and blue candle holders.
PERSONAL SHOPPING
We then distributed the rest of the couple's furniture throughout the house. Since they moved from a much smaller apartment, they still needed a few things.  Big ticket items like a dining set and coffee table were on the list, as well as some bright new accessories to bring color to the space.

I accompanied Christina on two shopping trips to Home Goods and Ikea, in which we came home with some curtains, pillows, and accessories.  When her and Sam shopped alone, I was there via text and picture messaging, acting as their second opinion and idea guide.

* The huge mirror above the dining table was previously hanging in the master bath.  We turned it into a DIY project and added a painted white wood frame to it.  With Sam's craftsman skills, it really turned out great!
